New Style - Aria
Aria Room
For those of you who, like us, don't know an aria from fifty-cents-a-week, here's the deal.... It's a melody in an opera for a solo voice with instrument accompaniment. Since all of our products using solution-dyed Stainmaster nylon and wearing the PetProtect label use musically-inspired names, Aria is also the name of our latest PetProtect product. It too is an upscale loop-pile offering unsurpassed colorfastness and exceptional durability in a pet-friendly texture. Softer Than Sisal - Number 1 for over 25 Years

In the carpet industry very few products have become "Industry Standards"; products that have been benchmarks in style, luxury, and quality.  A few such products were "Fair and Warmer" by Berven, "Breathless" by Salem, "Eloquence" by Karastan, "Kahala" by Customweve and the product with the funny name "Softer Than Sisal" by Unique. Softer Than Sisal earned the name by providing the look and colors of natural sisal with the luxury of softness underfoot that only pure wool can provide. Softer Than Sisal recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, an extremely rare case of longevity in a fashion-driven industry.  Updated a couple of times over the years, Softer Than Sisal remains our top-selling item.  It's a beautiful, reasonably priced, and trouble-free flooring option. Check it out.

Wool Facts - What the heck are V.O.C.'s?

Ok, don't fall asleep. This is important... Boring, but important. You may have noticed a lot of folks are asking about V.O.C.'s lately. Volatile Organic Compounds (V.O.C.'s) are emitted as gasses from certain solids or liquids and include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have adverse health effects. Concentrations of V.O.C.'s are up to ten times more concentrated indoors than outdoors. They're emitted by a wide array of products such as paints and lacquers, paint strippers, cleaning supplies, pesticides, building materials, and furnishings, office equipment and adhesives.  OMG, this really is boring!! Organic chemicals are widely used in household products. Varnishes and waxes contain organic solvents as do many cleaning, disinfecting, cosmetic, degreasing, and hobby products. Additionally fuels are made up of organic chemicals and all of these products can release organic compounds when in use. Are you seeing a trend here? We could have just said "they're pretty much everywhere" and left it at that. Moving on... of the many products used as interior furnishings, Carpet is among the lowest emitters of Volatile Organic Compounds. And even that number dissipates as new carpet is exposed to routine maintenance and the environment.

As examples, some relative emissions are:

Adhesives72.5
Wall Coverings8.3
Wood1.0
Carpet.5
